Torrential Rains Cause Widespread Flooding

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport temporarily halted services as torrential rains inundated southeastern Florida on Wednesday. Streets were impassable, leaving vehicles stranded, and homes and businesses flooded. The storm dumped an unprecedented 25 inches of rain in some areas.

Cleanup Efforts Begin Amidst Ongoing Storm

Crews began cleanup efforts on Thursday, but some areas remained under water. Residents were urged to stay off the roads due to downed trees and power lines. The storm also caused power outages, leaving thousands of homes without electricity.
